Toronto Location indoor kart racing

Our community is our family—and like all families, we take care of each other. So, when we sat down to put new safety measures in place, we went beyond the guidelines.

Click below to see the details of our new plan, but keep in mind this is just a start. We have a few more upgrades in the works, and as we learn more, we’ll be constantly fine-tuning and updating this page with the latest—so you can always check back here.

We’ve always been dedicated to the cleanliness of our tracks and the health and safety of our community. Now we’re taking it to an even higher level.

Track updates.

As we await the “green flag” from local and provincial government officials, we’ll evaluate if we feel comfortable safely reopening tracks in each market. As soon as we do, we’ll notify racers and add reopening dates here.

The following tracks have been safely reopened:

JUNE 22: K1 SPEED MONTREAL NOW OPEN
JULY 31: K1 SPEED TORONTO NOW OPEN

The K1 Speed Standard of fun and safety.

The safety of our community has always been our top priority, and we’re even more focused on it now. To set the tone for our industry, we’ve made changes to how we operate—all designed to keep our racers, staff, and visitors safe. Here are all the changes you can expect:

Our Heightened Deep-Cleaning Process

COVID-19 Icons SQ_Spray Bottle

Top-grade disinfectant & more frequent cleaning.

Staff will use a disinfectant proven to kill viruses like COVID-19 in all common areas before and after registration—with a heightened attention to karts, helmets, and all high-touch surfaces after every race. We’ll also be cleaning the facility from top to bottom twice as often per week.

Disinfecting high-touch surfaces.

After every race, we’ll disinfect handles, rails, light switches, sanitizing stations, lockers, bathrooms, sinks, toilets, couches, the reception, keyboards, computers, phones, arcade, meeting rooms and equipment.

All karts disinfected.

After every race, every kart will be thoroughly disinfected.

All helmets disinfected.

After every race, all helmets will be thoroughly disinfected.

Staff face masks & gloves.

Staff will be required to wear gloves and face coverings during their shift.  After deep cleaning, they’ll wash their hands before refreshing gloves and masks as needed.  All guests will also be provided with a new full face-covering racing headsock that they can wear during their visit.

Before You Race.

Staff health check.

Every staff member will have their temperature checked before their shift. When necessary, we’ll follow our elevated temperature protocol.

Racer health check.

Where mandated by local or provincial governments, we’ll check the temperature of racers as they enter the facility.

High-touch amenities.

To limit hand-to-hand contact, we’re sanitizing arcade areas and making available wipes and other supplies as requested.

Staff hospitality and safety.

Your track staff is here to help, from a safe distance. We’ve put a protocol in place that allows staff to assist racers as needed.

Social distancing practices.

Our staff will work to get racers in and out of the facility, while maintaining social distancing practices. To help, floor markers will indicate a safe distance in the lobby, track side, and bathrooms. We ask that you avoid gathering in large groups while in these high-traffic areas, and consider waiting at a safe distance at trackside.

Emergency water fountain use only.

We strongly urge you to bring your own water or purchase from the Paddock Lounge.

Please place your helmet in designated areas so staff can sanitize it for the next race.

Personal belongings.

Please wait until there are no other racers to collect your personal belongings from the designated boxes.

The Pro Shop.

Our retail collection will still be available, but we ask that you avoid touching items as much as possible. If you’d like to make a purchase, please ask staff for assistance

Retail returns.

We won’t be allowing racers to try items on before buying but will still accept returns. If a racer does return an item, we won’t put it back on the floor until deemed safe by apparel industry standards.

Practice good hand hygiene.

Whether you’re going straight home, or planning to stick around and enjoy a bite to eat or a beverage in our Paddock Lounge, be sure to first wash your hands thoroughly after each race using soap and water, or use the hand sanitizing stations found throughout the facility.

Racer Responsibility: Keeping each other safe.

We’ve put a lot of changes in place—with details beyond what you see here. Our new safety process will be most effective if we all make sure to do our part in it.

Aside from respecting the safety guidelines put in place by our governments, we ask that any racer coming to a track walks in with the approach our K1 family takes for most things: Go above and beyond for each other.

Please make sure to practice social distancing when in close, shared spaces like lobby, arcade and bathrooms. Follow the markers placed around the track to maintain a safe distance.

If you have a cough, fever, or symptoms of COVID-19, please do not come to the track until you’re symptom-free and fever-free for three days.

If you have tested positive for COVID-19, or have knowingly come into close contact with someone who has, we ask that you do not come to the track for 14 days or until you’ve tested negative for COVID-19.

If you feel unwell or have any concerns about coming in to race, please stay home and stay safe. We’ll happily welcome you back on the track when you’re healthy and feel comfortable coming back to race.

We’re encouraging racers and staff to limit person-to-person contact, including hugs & high fives. Community and love is in our DNA—but right now, this is the best way to take care of our K1 family.

It might be a bit overwhelming at first. But trust us: As soon as you’ve raced with us again, you’ll find yourself in that familiar place you know and love. That adrenaline filled experience you’ve been needing now more than ever is even safer now—and we can’t wait to see you here.

Moving forward, we’re continuing to monitor the situation.

While we’re taking every precaution to keep our community safe (and encourage you to do the same), we’re acutely aware of and highly prepared for the possibility of a second wave.

In the event that there is a reported case of COVID-19 in any of our tracks and you were potentially in contact with the individual, you’ll be notified immediately. From there, we’ll take the proper safety precautions to disinfect the track from top to bottom.

With no way to predict what will happen, the best way we can prepare is to respond and evolve as the situation develops—with nothing but your safety in mind.

Whether you plan to join us in the track, or feel more comfortable staying home, we’re here for you. If you have questions or concerns, let’s talk it out at [email protected]
