Junior World Championship Recap

This past month, two talented young Canadian racers, Jordan Chan from Toronto and Owen Bell from Mississauga, competed in the first K1 Speed Junior World Championship.

The competition crowned the first Junior U.S. Champion and Junior E-World Champion. Racers qualified by competing in their local championships, with the top 3 racers from each state/province moving on to compete in the U.S. & World Championship.

Leading up to the World Championships, both Jordan and Own have won a Junior League and Owen is currently the defending league champ in Mississauga.

Jordan qualified for the championship with a 53.62s time at the Junior Canadian Championship this past January & Owen qualified with a 54.13s time.

Owen will be going up into the teen division and graduating to the adult karts now. Jordan will remain in the Junior division.

Jordan and Owen both put up strong lap times throughout the competition & represented Canada well on the international stage earning them third & fourth place in the World Championship! The future is bright for Canadian kart racing.
